Case Study: The Guards Musuem
We were asked to organise a wine and food harmonising dinner at a prestigious location, so we chose the famous Guards Museum on Birdcage Walk, next to Buckingham Palace.
This is a unique venue, with so much history and pomp on display that guests are always impressed with the displays and memorabilia.
We arranged for guardsmen to be on duty in their full uniforms, a piper playing as guests arrived, and all the regimental silver on display on the tables, with special gifts for guests to take away.
The format of the evening was to match the wines with the food, to see which harmonised best together. We had a team of our wine tutors on hand, plus our own chefs working in the kitchen to provide the gourmet meal. We also included a wine quiz during the evening with prizes for the winners.
